Monster Job #34589982
Oct. 4th, 2005 02:27 pmI found this on Monster, while researching my vet prospects:
Job Description:
Must be able to train a mouse to dance.
After 1 month a mouse needs to have learned how to dance. It is expected that no cruel or abusive treatment will be used in the mouses training. After 2 months it is expected that the mouse will be able to twirl a minature hola hoop.
The right canidate will be compinsated depending on the mouses ability. You will need to take care of this mouse and treat it like a family member. This is the only way we can expect the mouse to adapt to our society.

That was a heck of a storm. It woke me up, and Stella, who usually doesn't care about thunder, was up in my bed panting and shaking. Poor thing. It seemed to last longer than usual, perhaps because it was preventing me from going back to sleep. The fire department arrived on my street toward the end, but this morning I didn't see any downed trees or anything. Hopefully the noise didn't give someone a heart attack.
(no subject)
Jul. 25th, 2005 12:15 pmYesterday, I spent the day rafting on the Penobscot river in Maine. We drove about an hour north of Bangor, 5.5 hours total, on Saturday, got up on Sunday, and spent the whole day on the river. The weather could not have been better, and I only got washed out of the boat once. I didn't get home last night until almost midnight, and the dogs required some attention before they'd let me sleep. Of course,
rojagato took excellent care of the foster doggie, and Stella spent the night with my Nana, they just like to fuss. I'm sore and tired today, but it was totally worth it.

Your local government can now seize your property for private development projects, not just public works projects. To me, that shows complete contempt for the foundations of this country.

Jun. 14th, 2005 06:00 pmThis came up on page 5 when I searched images.google.com for "father's day", looking for cheesy clip art for a card.

Mar. 31st, 2005 02:03 pmLanguage is constantly evolving, and that's great, but "impactful" is not a real @&*!# word. Nor can you shorten "is recruited to" to "recruits to", as in "this protein recruits to the plasma membrane in response to..." I think the presidency of GWB is making people think it's okay to give up on good grammar and talk like 5-year-olds, but I refuse to accept it.
